UFC officials announced the fight on Thursday evening. Sterling (12-0 MMA, 4-0 UFC) is one of the hottest prospects in the UFC at the moment and has been asking for this match-up for a very long time now. "Funk Master" debuted in the UFC as a young kid with a record of 8-0 but quickly had his name in fans' names. Sterling picked up a convincing decision victory in his UFC debut vs Cody Gibson before stopping Hugo Viana at UFC Fight Night 45. The 26-year-old then faced his toughest test in Takeya Mizugaki, but won the fight via submission in the third round. Most recently, Sterling faced Johnny Eduardo at UFN 80 and picked up another submission victory. Caraway (20-7 MMA, 5-2) is best known these days for 'running' and turning down fights as well as being Miesha Tate's boyfriend, but he has accepted one and it is a big one. Caraway picked up two submission victories in his first two UFC fights before losing a split decision to Takeya Mizugaki. Caraway rebounded from the loss by picking up two more submission victories before again losing a decision to Raphael Assuncao. Most recently, Caraway faced Eddie Wineland and won the fight convincingly, picking up a decision victory. UFC Fight Night 88 takes place live from the Mandalay Bay Events Center on May 29 and is set to be headlined by a pivotal bantamweight bout between undefeated pair Thomas Almeida and Cody Garbrandt.
