Kurt Southern booked for inaugural title bout at Prestige FC 2

DSC00184 Kurt Southern has signed an exclusive deal with Saskatchewan-based organization Prestige FC and will fight for the inaugural featherweight championship in the main event of Prestige FC 2 early next year. Prestige FC officials announced the news on Monday afternoon. Southern (14-6) fought in the co-main event of Prestige FC's debut show last month in Weyburn, Saskatchewan and picked up an impressive first-round submission over Daniel Swain. This snapped a two-fight losing skid; he lost to Tom Gallicchio twice by submission in Maximum Fighting Championship last year. His opponent has yet to be announced, although more news surrounding Prestige FC 2 will be announced in the next few days and weeks. “We are very pleased to have Kurt signed to an exclusive contract and for him to be competing for our first championship belt,” said Cord Crowthers, CEO & Matchmaker for Prestige FC (via press release). “Kurt is an accomplished fighter who deserves this opportunity, but just as important is the fact that he is an upstanding young man. He handles all of his business as a professional, he is respectful, and he competes full-out every single time he enters the cage.” Prestige FC 2 is targeted for early next year however a date and location has yet to be confirmed.
