Magny informed MMAFighting.com of the news on Friday. According to the report, Magny only had one fight left on his previous contract before signing the new one. Neil Magny (18-4 MMA, 11-3 UFC) is one of, if not the most active fighters in the UFC right now and is currently on the best streak of his career. Magny has fought 14 times in the UFC since making his debut in February in 2013. Magny matched the record for the most wins in one calendar year in the UFC with five after defeating Gasan Umalatov, Tim Means, Rodrigo de Lima, Alex Garcia and William Macario. He then started off his 2015 in February by submitting Kiichi Kunimoto. Following the submission victory, Magny picked up a TKO victory over Hyun Gyu Lim in May. He then fought Demian Maia in his toughest test to date but lost the fight via submission in the second round. Magny picked up two decision victories over Erick Silva and Kelvin Gastelum to rebound from the loss before most recently stopping Hector Lombard in Brisbane.
