One to Watch: Dan ‘Hot Chocolate’ Roberts

British welterweight Danny 'Hot Chocolate' Roberts is set to make his UFC debut in around a week's time and is the opening fight of the night, and I'm here to tell you why you simply cannot miss it. Danny Roberts 'Hot Chocolate' is set to open up the Fight Pass Prelims against short notice replacement Nathan 'Soulforce' Coy. Roberts (11-1 MMA, 0-0 UFC) is currently riding a five fight win streak with four finishes. Roberts submitted MMA veteran Jack Mason before stopping Diego Gonzalez with strikes. 'Hot Chocolate' then took home a decision over veteran Juan Manuel Suarez after a back and forth war before becoming the first person to knock out 'Judo' Jim Wallhead. Roberts was born in London, but moved to Bristol before moving to Liverpool which was where his fighting career took off. The Brit was a professional boxer prior to his martial arts career but was persuaded to make the switch by his ex-coach Paul Rimmer. Roberts now spends most of his time out in Boca Raton, Florida, at the Blackzillians training with household names such as 'Suga' Rashad Evans and Eddie Alvarez. Why should you watch this fight? You should watch this fight because you'll see a man who is prepared to die in the cage, how do I know? Because Roberts left his 11-week-old baby at home to train in Florida for this camp and will not go back without a victory. Roberts has powerful, quick precise striking and always looks for the finish. His ground game isn't too bad either, with four submission victories. Although his only loss was to a heel hook, it is almost impossible to make 'Hot Chocolate' tap, as he demonstrated on numerous occasions against Juan Manuel Suarez. Danny 'Hot Chocolate' Roberts fights Nathan 'Soulforce' Coy on Dec. 10 on the Fight Pass card headlined by a pivotal strawweight fight between Paige VanZant and Rose Namajunas, expect fireworks, people.
