Rose Namajunas fills in for Calderwood against Paige VanZant in UFC Fight Night 80 headliner

Joanne Calderwood has been forced out of her main event slot at UFC Fight Night 80 against Paige VanZant due to undisclosed reasons, and former title challenger Rose Namajunas has filled in on short notice. VanZant's teammate, Justin Buchholz, confirmed the news on Tuesday's Stud Show Radio. Namajunas picked up her first win in the promotion against Angela Hill earlier this month at UFC 192 with a first-round submission. In her debut, she fought Carla Esparza for the inaugural women's strawweight belt but lost via submission. VanZant is 3-0 in the organziation with two stoppage wins over Alex Chambers most recently at UFC 191 and Kailin Curran in her debut, and a dominant unanimous decision in between against Felice Herrig. UFC Fight Night 80 takes place live from The Chelsea at The Cosmopolitan in Las Vegas on Dec. 10.
